Novice Test held at St Osyth Priory on 24th July 2011 We were very kindly given permission by the Sergeant family to hold our annual Club Novice Test at St Osyth Priory. When we arrived at the ground early Sunday morning the sun was shining but there was a very chilly wind. As the day progressed the chill in the wind died down and the temperature rose. We had 24 entrants on the day with some first-time handlers and other much more experienced handlers. Our judges for the day were Rod Chapple and Terry Baker and we are very grateful for the time they gave up to come and help our Club. The test took the normal format with each entrant having a hunt up, a seen and a blind retrieve under each judge. The final test of the day was the water retrieve. Whilst the judges added up their books, the raffle was drawn. We must once again thank everyone who has brought raffle prizes and bought raffle tickets this year. The income has been exceptional this year and once again we raised in excess of £70. We must also thank everyone who helped on the day especially: Dave and George (on guns), Gary and Richard (throwing dummies), Lesley and Jane (blinds), Julie (steward), David (official photographer), and Val (providing lunch for our judges). The top 5 competitors have automatically qualified to represent the Club at the Three Shires Match on 10 September 2011. The results:
